A new prostate assessment clinic is commencing in August 2010 at the Eastwood Community Endoscopy Centre, for patients with complications of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). The service is led by Consultant Urology Surgeon, Mr Anil Vohra, who works locally at Basildon and Thurrock University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, based at Basildon in Essex.

The service has been approved by the South East Essex PCT for NHS patients and meets CQC guidlines. Patients referred to the service will be assessed clinically and undergo urine flomometry, and bladder scanning, allowing individualised management plans. 

We aim to augment this service with cystoscopy and renal ultrasound later in 2010, which would allow patients with blood in their urine to be assessed in a One-Stop Clinic.
