We understand that for some patients, visiting the practice may not be possible due to mobility issues or severe illness. In such cases, home visits by a doctor can be requested. However, we kindly ask that requests for visits be made before 10:30 AM to allow for proper scheduling.
Home visits are intended only for elderly, housebound, or severely ill patients who are unable to travel to the practice.
Your GP will determine if a home visit is necessary based on your medical condition and its urgency.
Please be prepared to provide relevant details about your condition to help the doctor prioritise and schedule visits accordingly.
When requesting a home visit, our receptionists may ask you some questions to assess the priority and urgency of your need. This information helps us allocate resources effectively and ensure timely care for those who require it most.
Please note that home visits are typically carried out after the morning surgery and before the afternoon surgery sessions. In some cases, our practice may collaborate with Emergency Care Practitioners (ECPs) to provide home visits on behalf of our GPs when necessary.
While we encourage patients to visit the practice whenever possible, as we have the proper equipment and facilities available, we understand that visits are sometimes necessary. We appreciate your cooperation and understanding in following this process for requesting visits.
