FLU IMMUNISATIONS
FLU VACCINATIONS WILL CONTINUE DURING LOCKDOWN.
Changes have been made to make sure it's safe for you to have the flu vaccine at GP surgeries and pharmacies. These changes include social distancing, hand washing and wearing protective equipment. We need to keep everyone safe and ask that you wear a face covering when you attend the GP practice unless you have a health or disability reason for not wearing one.
It's important to go to your appointments unless you or someone you live with has symptoms of coronavirus.
This Years Flu Vaccination clinic will need to adopt a new approach to address the COVID-19 risk.
Following guidance from PHE, our Flu Immunisation Clinics will run as follows:
You will be booked into a specific time slot, you will not be seen before or after this time. Please DO NOT turn up before your allotted time as there is very limited space.
You will escorted in to the building at your appointment time.
You will need to ensure that your less dominant upper arm is accessable on arrival to the waiting area.
You will need to wear a face covering at all times during your visit to the Surgery.
You will need to stand 2 metres apart in specific marked zones within the waiting area.
Your appointment will be for the Flu vaccination only.
Please DO NOT ATTEND if you are unwell or displaying any signs of COVID-19

For all urgent appointments, we ask that you undertake a symptom assessment through DoctorLink.
The symptom assessment will ask you a number of questions to help to identify your problem.
The outcome of your assessment will direct you to the right treatment, whether emergency care, your GP, nurse or self-care.
If your outcome indicates that an appointment is required at your GP practice, you simply click on the “request an appointment” button.
Once the request has been submitted, you will then be contacted by the Practice Team, to arrange an appointment within the identified timeframe (as outlined in the outcome of your symptom checker).
The information you provide will be shared with our clinical team (where appropriate) and will assist in providing robust information of your problem to the required clinical team member prior to your appointment.
RECEPTIONISTS ASKING FOR FURTHER INFORMATION
When booking an appointment, we may ask you for more information on why you need the appointment. This is because we can make sure that you are directed to the appropriate person as we do have a Prescribing Nurse who deals with minor ailments. This free's up some more of the doctors appointment for patients who need to see a doctor. If you do not want to give a reason for the appointment, just explain to the receptionist that it is personal and you would rather not give a reason and they will make an appointment for you with a Doctor.
Many thanks for you co-operation.
